Description:  The Grand Opening of the Laboratory Complex will be Friday, October 9, 2009 and is being sponsored by our partner the Edison Innovation Foundation. The Laboratory Complex will be open from 9:00AM until 5:00PM for this invitation-only event. The formal program will begin at 11:00 AM. Following the Grand Opening day, the park will host special programs and open houses – free of charge – on Saturday, October 10th; Sunday, October 11th; and Monday, October 12th. Festivities will be held at the Laboratory Complex and the Glenmont Estate from 9:00AM until 5:00PM with special extended hours until 8:00PM on Saturday. We need volunteers to work at the Laboratory Complex and the Glenmont Estate all four days. Volunteers may help with logistical duties like parking, checking invitations at the gate (Friday only), giving directions, and handing out audio tour players. Others may be stationed at different locations such as the Black Maria, Chemistry Lab, Pattern Shop, in different rooms throughout Building 5 and all of Glenmont. Volunteers will receive a special edition Grand Opening polo shirt. Volunteers are needed to help with all activities and programs throughout the park! All volunteers are required to attend one of the orientation sessions.
