Opportunity Description: Lowell Lake State Park in Londonderry, Vermont, is starting a community volunteer program, called Community Corps. We are looking for frequent park users, neighbors, and other interested Southern Vermont residents to assist with educating park visitors, traffic control on busy days, completing visitor surveys, patrolling trails, and performing light trail and building maintenance. Scheduling is flexible. Lowell Lake State Park consists of 345 acres surrounding 80 percent of Lowell Lake in the town of Londonderry, Vermont. This park was established in 1981. Historic uses of the property included a hotel (no longer standing) and a summer family camp (many of these buildings still remain). Currently, the park is open for day use for hiking, biking on the western side, quiet water boating, picnicking and nature watching. Long term plans call for renovating the overnight facilities and getting them back up and running again. Housing Availability: Not Available • Housing Description: no housing is available |
