Opportunity Description: POSITION -- CLOSED for 2013. Volunteer will assist with many aspects of the interpretive operation and visitor center (information, education, maintaining information handouts, phone duties, preparation and delivery of interpretive programs, hiking the lower dunes to make visitor contacts, assist with lost and found, bulletin board maintenance, library organization, oversee community service projects for volunteer groups such as litter patrols, exotic plant removal). May assist with nighttime astronomy programs or night hikes. May assist in other divisions dependent upon needs. Public speaking experience desirable, friendly and outgoing person. Housing or trailer/ RV space may be available with hook-ups. 1-2 positions, 40 hour work week. If a couple is selected, days off will be the same, but will likely require working different shifts each day. Keep in mind elevation is 8200 feet and acclimation may take some time.
