Opportunity Description: 

    Location: 22 miles southeast of Steamboat Springs off of US 40 on Rabbit Ears Pass at 9500 feet elevation; 22 campsites, some first come-first served, some reservable, vault toilets, trash receptacles, picnic table, fire ring; can accommodate trailers under 40 feet; lake with adjoining day use picnic area are located just west of the campground, the picnic area has 6 sites with tables and fireplace grates; Dumont Lake Campground is accessible to the physically challenged; open meadows fill with brilliant wildflowers, border on the Continental Divide, offer spectacular views of several Colorado mountain ranges.

    Host duties: provide visitor contacts; mark reserved sites; monitor sign board for damaged or new signs; empty garbage cans, replace bag; restock and tidy bathrooms; rake and clean campsites, empty out fire rings as needed; pick up trash; communicate needs such as vault pumping or dumpster service; report by radio to office the number of sites available each day. Tools and supplies are provided by the Forest Service. Subsistence and/or incidental expenses are negotiable.
