Opportunity Description:

Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore has an amazing amount of diversity in a small space. One of the biggest issues the park faces is the effect of invasive species on native habitats. This volunteer will assist a NPS scientist in field collection of data in prairies, wetlands, streams, aquatic environments. Assist in restoration projects for wet and dry habitats, and dune habitats along the southern shore of Lake Michigan. Field work includes removing exotics, planting natives, working in the green house or data entry on rainy days. This volunteer will also get the opportunity to learn how to use field and laboratory equipment.
