Opportunity Description: Day Use Area Host: Visitor Assistance: Monitor park activities and provide information to visitors. Distribute comment cards, maps and information brochures to park visitors. Note violations of park rules, accidents and injuries and report them to the Resource Manager promptly. Post RESERVED sign on picnic shelter as needed. Volunteer must be cordial, friendly and willing to assist park visitors. Housekeeping: Clean the restroom twice daily on weekends/holidays and once daily on weekdays. Perform minor maintenance to fixtures and hardware as needed and promptly report maintenance deficiencies to park officials. Volunteer will be provided cleaning supplies, tools, cleaning schedule and admin supplies. Morning cleanings will be competed by 10:00am. Evening cleanings will be performed after 4:00pm. Host must be able to work safely and independent of immediate oversight. The Downstream Area 1 Day Use Area is located directly below Bluestone Dam along the New River near Hinton West Virginia. The area is frequented heavily by fishermen and Little League baseball participants.
The Corps of Engineers does not operate a campground at Bluestone Lake.
