Opportunity Description: 
Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park is seeking volunteers to assist in planting and maintaining flower beds around the Huffman Prairie Flying Field Interpretive Center. The volunteer(s) would be responsible for preparing seedbeds, planting native seeds and plants, maintaining the flowers, watering, removing/clearing weeds, and disposing of trash/plant debris.

Plants, seeds, and appropriate equipment will be provided by the National Park Service.

REQUIRED SKILLS INCLUDE: -Stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods -Ability to work with appropriate hand tools or gardening equipment -Work outside under variable weather conditions -Comfortable interacting with visitors inquiring about your task -Knowledge of safe work practices

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

-Comply with park regulations, policies, and procedures -Must wear applicable safety equipment -Must wear appropriate clothing for the task - please refrain from wearing revealing shorts, tank tops, etc. You are representing the professionalism of the National Park Service. -Report any physical, safety, or personnel problems to the supervisor on duty
