Swan Lake Campground (3640' elevation) is located 14 miles southwest of the town of Republic, WA. This 52 acre lake is home to great fishing for Brook, Rainbow, and Cutthroat Trout. The use of combustion motors is prohibited. There are 21 sites, an additional 4 tent only walk-in sites, a sandy day use beach, small boat launch, fishing dock, 2 swimming docks, and a CCC-built reservable group Kitchen (built in 1936, and historically preserved in 2009). Visitors enjoy fishing, swimming, hiking and mountain biking the nearby trails (and the vast amount of huckleberries), watching resident loons, as well as enjoying the shaded campsites. Swan Lake also hosts a Fishing Derby prior to Memorial Day, and a Mountain Bike Festival in late September.

Duties include: Providing information and assistance to visitors, cleaning facilities (toilets, firepits, campsites, day use area, and kitchen), monitoring for safety hazards, and performing minor maintenance. Forest Service Rangers will regularly patrol the campground and area. Tools and supplies will be provided by the Forest Service. A Host Site is being constructed, which will have a holding tank installed and a water line plumbed to the site. There is no electricity to the campground. Subsistance and /or incidental expenses are negotiable upon availability of funds.

Ideally the host(s) would be available a week prior to Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend.
