General Park Operations Volunteer
Duties include assisting park staff with day-to-day operations and maintenance tasks. These can include cleaning campsites and restrooms, mowing lawns, landscaping, painting and general upkeep of park facilities. Big Deer is one of seven parks within the 30,000 acre Groton State Forest. Big Deer is a small campgrund tucked off the Boulder Beach Road with direct access to the Telephone Line Multi-Use Trail. The park is operated as a subset of Stillwater State Park. Volunteers serve as back-up night-time emergency contact for campers. Nearby parks provide miles of hiking and multi-use trails fishing, swimming, boat rentals, fly fishing and inn rooms.
All staff receive on the job training for all duties. Uniforms provided.
