Hog Park Campground (8,400 feet) is located 28 miles southwest of Encampment. Access to the campground is via 7 miles of State Highway 70 and then 21 miles of gravel on Forest Service road 550. Reservoir and stream fishing opportunities are abundant.
The campground hosts maintain the 50-unit Hog Park Campground, two picnic areas and boat ramp site. The campground is adjacent to Hog Park Reservoir. Duties include providing visitor information, posting of reserved sites, interpreting rules and regulations, collecting data on visitor use, and routine cleaning and maintenance, including daily stocking and cleaning of restrooms. Duties also include light maintenance like mowing, weed-whipping, cleaning latrines, removing garbage from fire rings, litter pick-up, and repainting picnic tables and sign posts.
A Host must generally be physically able to perform some raking, shoveling, and sweeping. A radio and necessary tools and supplies will be provided.
The work week will typically cover weekends and holidays with Thursday - Monday as a normal schedule for hosts to be available.
HOUSING & AMENITIES Type: Trailer/RV Pads Description: Volunteer is expected to provide own travel trailer or RV. The designated host site has water, sewer, propane and electric hookups.
