Jack Creek Campground (8,500 feet) is located 24 miles southwest of Saratoga. Access to the campground is along County road 500 for 16 miles and then along Forest Service road 452 for the remaining 8 miles, all on gravel.
The campground hosts maintain the 16-unit Jack Creek Campground, one rustic log cabin and one modern cabin that are rented during the year. Duties include providing visitor information, interpreting rules and regulations, collecting data on visitor use, routine cleaning and maintenance; mowing, weed-whipping, cleaning fire rings, litter pick-up, and stocking and cleaning of restrooms. Rental duties include coordinating with incoming guest and light cleaning and up keep between renters.
A Host must generally be physically able to perform some raking, shoveling, and sweeping. A radio and necessary tools and supplies will be provided.
The work week will typically cover weekends and holidays with Thursday - Monday as a normal schedule for hosts to be available.
HOUSING & AMENITIES Type: Trailer/RV Pads Description: Volunteer is expected to provide own travel trailer or RV. The designated host site is located at the Jack Creek work center and has water, sewer, propane- and generator-powered electric hookups which are typically run 3-4 hours in the morning and 3-4 hours in the evening.
