Volunteer Village/Park Host/Outdoor Work/Interpretive Programs/Hiking and Maintenance with Power Tools:
Dates: This Position is Year Around 2019
Carters Lake is seeking volunteers to fill its Volunteer Village. We have a continuous need throughout the year and have five volunteer campsites. We are seeking individuals that would like to come and fill an immediate need or would like to sign up to work with us in advance. The Carters Lake project has very little need for administrative work, though some may come up. We are looking for volunteers that enjoy working outdoors, with their hands, and on special projects. We will have special projects and routine tasking that needs attention all year long. However, during the months of April through September, all volunteers must be willing to work as Park Hosts for one (1) week rotations in Northbank Park and assist with traffic control at Damsite Park. Volunteers may also be asked or assigned to assist with interpretive programming. Volunteers may be asked to hike, work with power tools, lift, dig and other physical functions, so should be in reasonably good health and condition. Volunteers are expected to give a minimum of 20 hours of service per week per volunteer site and may be either single or team. All volunteers should have a camper of at least 24 Foot with running water and electricity. The Village requires a minimum commitment of 3 months and allows for a maximum of 6 months stay with a 6 month away time. Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator, Park Ranger George McBroom at 706-334-2040 or George.email@example.com. (Updated 12/31/2018)
