Volunteer Duties: Work the Berry Mountain or Boomer Park gate house to include opening the gate each morning of shift, greeting visitors, giving out information, operating cash register, selling passes, collecting money and following procedures given for money collection, filling honor vault envelope holder on vault, posting signs and information as needed, operating life jacket loaner program, and making 2 drive thrus a day of park to check on parking availability, restroom cleanliness, and visitor safety. Additionally, perform general upkeep of the gatehouse and surrounding area as needed to include weeding, mulching, planting, trimming, and painting. These duties require the volunteer to complete a background check, wear a volunteer shirt or vest as part of job, use appropriate safety equipment as required, and attend a mandatory training day prior to start day.
Special Skills: All volunteer jobs require individuals to possess customer service skills. This position also requires general administrative skills to include handling and accounting of money. (Updated 06/30/2019)
HOUSING & AMENITIES Type: Trailer/RV Pads Description: Volunteers who perform at least 20 hours of work per week are provided a full hook-up campsite free of charge at Berry Mountain Park for their service. Amenities include water, electric, and sewer hook-ups. Laundry facilities are available at Volunteer Village. Internet/Wi-Fi is available at Volunteer Village and gatehouses.
