Day-Use Area Hosts and Visitor Center Assistants:
Volunteer Duties: Help staff our Class B Visitor Center and recreational areas in beautiful NW Montana.
THE "LAST BEST PLACE" IN MONTANA is looking for you! Libby Dam is seeking Day-Use Area Hosts and Volunteers to staff our Visitor Center and bookstore, and do light maintenance and janitorial in our recreation areas.
Special skills or experience desired:
Interpretation and Education
Willingness to clean toilets and pick up garbage
Light maintenance, mowing, weed-eating,
Office skills a plus
Ability to work with children and adults.
Interest in or knowledge of hydropower operations.
Ability to make sales, balance a till, run a small bookstore.
Interest or experience in natural resource management
Trained in First Aid, CPR, Blood-borne pathogens
Defensive driving certification
Flexibility, good attitude and ability to get along with folks of all ages and abilities a must.
We are working on providing satellite-based Hughes-net Internet and phone shared with all the other Volunteers, so speed and availability are extremely limited. (We are working on it.) Folks who are comfortable being unplugged will be happy. Satellite works, but you must bring your own dish and arrange for your own service.
Background check is required.
Volunteers typically work two days on and are off for 4 days on a rotating schedule. (Listed 10/15/2018)
HOUSING & AMENITIES Type: Trailer/RV Pads Description: A camp site is provided for hours worked. Campsite in Souse Gulch Day use area with electric and water and sewer hookups provided. Shared washer and dryer onsite. Nearest cell phone service is 7 miles away..
