Description
Administrative Volunteer (Document Imaging and Mail Outs):
Dates: This Position is Year Round 2019 - through Ending Date – Indefinite
Volunteer Duties: Volunteer will be responsible for assisting Administrative Assistant with document imaging and daily billing mail outs within the Shoreline Management Department at Lake Sidney Lanier Project Management Office, located at 1050 Buford Dam Road, Buford GA, 30518.
Document Imaging:
- Scanning filing materials associated with dock permit applications
- Sorting and/or preparing hard copy records for scanning
- Scanning hard copy files to electronic images, ensuring quality images
- Prepare the documents for scanning. (i.e., removing staples)
- Perform data entry duties as needed
- Perform “light” typing related to processing dock permits;
- Perform other clerical duties for the Shoreline Management Department (i.e. filingand mail distribution) as assigned
Monthly Billing Mail Out:
Volunteer will assist Administrative Assistant to process mail associated with Shoreline
Managements monthly billing notices:
Prepare outgoing mail for distribution:
- Examine and route mail to mailroom
- Operate mail folding machinery
- Process batch mail in SLM database
- Perform other clerical duties for the Shoreline Management Department (i.e. filing and mail distribution) as assigned
Volunteer will work on a rotating schedule, working Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week to satisfy required volunteer work hours. Volunteers will be off duty on Saturdays and Sundays and also off on Federal Holidays including Thanksgiving, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Christmas and New Year’s.
Full background check is required before volunteer can move on site. There is an official training offered and also on-site training within the Shoreline Management Program.
Special Skills: Volunteers must be competent in using Microsoft Office Suite and data entry, types 40 wpm, Adobe Reader, document imaging/scanning, office filing, and mail distribution.

Type: Trailer/RV Pads
Description: A camp site is provided for hours worked. Full hookup site available with opportunity. This includes water, sewer and electric. Internet, cable and satellite is volunteer responsibility. Volunteer village has 14 sites, and also 2 separate free washer/dryer facilities.
