Over the years, we have worked hard to maintain the natural integrity of the A-B Wilderness and surrounding areas. Weeds threaten that integrity. We have revisited the Bassett Creek site a number of times, pulling houndstongue, knapweed, and toadflax. You can help us keep the weeds from winning!
Join us for two days (and an overnight at an old hunting camp near the work site) at this Wilderness access area above the Paradise Valley, just north of Gardiner.
Special considerations: The hike in is three miles. The first mile is steep and switchbacked, but the valley above LaDuke springs is lush and beautiful. While we would love to have you work and camp with us, we welcome all Weed Warriors who want to volunteer for a single day! We will provide meals for folks who camp with us, and lemonade and snacks for people who come for the day.
Because houndstongue has nasty burrs, you'll have to leave your furry friends at home, even if you just come for the day.
