The Magazine Ranger District is seeking a CAMPGROUND HOST at Spring Lake Recreation Area. The Ranger District is located in the Arkansas River Valley on the western edge of the Ozark National Forest. This area is known for its beautiful, natural scenery, sandstone bluffs, flowing streams, lakes and pristine landscapes. The 82-acre Spring Lake is a favorite area for water sports such as swimming and fishing. Beautiful hardwood forest surrounds the lake.
Provide friendly service and recreational information to campers, hikers, bicyclers, anglers and day-use visitors.
Explain the campground regulations and the reasons for them.
Be available to serve Thursday through Mondays and all holidays.
Take recreational data by walking the camping loops, day use area, and other facilities at least twice a day.
Some litter pick-up.
Daily restroom/shower cleaning in all picnic/day-use/campground areas.
Other responsibilities may include mowing/trimming, site clean-up, and other minor site maintenance.
Hosts are provided with a recreational vehicle (RV) space including full hook-ups for their RV (50 amp). Host may receive reimbursement for allowable expenses.
To get to Spring Lake Recreation Area, take Arkansas 27 southwest from Dardanelle for 9 miles, then right (west) on Arkansas 307 (paved) 3 miles to Forest Service Road 1602 (gravel) continuing on 4 miles to Spring Lake, take Arkansas 307 north from Belleville for 4 miles to Forest Service Road 1602 (gravel), continue on 1602 for 3 miles, Negotiable by camping trailer rigs.
HOUSING & AMENITIES Type: Trailer/RV Pads Description: New RV Pad, septic, water, 50 amp service and phone. Volunteer must provide own RV or trailer.
