Operated by the National Park Service, the Anchorage Alaska Public Lands Information Center welcomes nearly 80,000 visitors, locals, and students each year. Educational programs for students are offered both in local schools and here at the center.
The center is seeking those who enjoy teaching youth about the amazing environment here in Alaska! Education assistants will help to develop educational programs for k-12 students and present these lessons along with fun games and activities at after school programs in local Anchorage schools.
Park rangers and volunteers provide information on all of Alaska's public lands, offering trip-planning assistance and interpretive services while encouraging visitors to protect Alaska’s natural and cultural resources.
Experience in teaching is preferred, and a federal background check is required.
Training in program development, design, and delivery is provided for those who want to further their skills in NPS education outreach programming.
