Job Description: Volunteer(s) will assist with sales and visitor customer service in the visitor center bookstore including sales/returns of items, shipping/receiving of items, inventory of items, stocking and restocking of bookstore shelves, answering customer questions; possible work in off- site sales, and assisting visitors purchasing an America the Beautiful-The National Parks and Federal Recreation Lands Pass. The position would provide the experience to work in a National Park Service site and to interact with diverse visitors.
Qualifications: Experience with customer relations and customer service is preferred. The applicant must be able to handle transactions including cash/credit card processing. Organizational skills, good handwriting, computer literacy, attention to detail and documentation, the ability to work independently, the ability to lift boxes up to 30 pounds without assistance, the ability to follow procedures for careful handling/documentation of bookstore inventory and received shipments. Dress will be casual office attire. A vehicle for transportation is strongly recommended.
Time commitment: Volunteer would need to make a commitment as position requires training.
Selection criteria/age requirement: Applicant should specify interest on Volunteer Services Application; applicants must be a minimum of 16 years old. A volunteer with practical experience processing transactions efficiently in a professional setting is preferred. Background check may be required.
