Congaree National Park is actively recruiting volunteers to assist with the operation of the Harry Hampton Visitor Center. Primary duties include the following:
Staffing the information desk (includes greeting park visitors, providing basic orientation and park information, answering questions in person and over the telephone, operating a cash register, starting the park movies, folding brochures and handouts, and other related tasks);
Providing interpretive services (includes guiding visitors through the visitor center exhibits, explaining about the significance of Congaree National Park's natural and cultural resources, staffing a "touch table," providing hands-on demonstrations, and other tasks; all with the goal of providing opportunities for visitors to form their own intellectual and emotional connections to the park resources);
Assisting park staff with various projects as needed.
Other optional opportunities include participating in outreach events, library programs, guided hikes and walks, providing interpretive programs and much more.
HOUSING & AMENITIES Type: Camp Sites Description: RV/Trailer Pad may be available. Camping also possible.
