These volunteers can assist at the visitor center desk, present historic walking programs to the public, present historic house tour programs, and do a variety of other activities and programs related to the town’s interpretive programs. Interpretive projects also may include exhibit design, calling for artistic skill, or interpretive writing, such as assisting with publications.
Minimum commitment: Visitor Center and House Tour volunteers can be scheduled weekly or biweekly. Other programming positions are based on need and will have an open schedule until otherwise notified.
Skills needed/preferred: Background in communication skills, like to work with people, and have some knowledge about Historic New Castle. Anyone looking to gain experience in this field will be considered.

This is a joint volunteer postion through the First State National Historical Park and the New Castle Historical Society. Volunteers slected for this postion will be registered as both an NPS volunteer as well as a volunteer for the New Castle Historical Society.
