These volunteers can assist at the visitor center desk, give directions, greet visitors, and assist in sales. Volunteers may also be asked to work at special events.
Minimum commitment: This position will be scheduled on a weekly or biweekly basis.
Skills needed/preferred: Background in communication skills, like to work with people, and have some knowledge about Historic New Castle, and minor computer skills. Anyone looking to gain experience in this field will be considered.
Benefits to volunteers (note training): Volunteers will gain new or improve old interpretive skills such as communication, customer service, and writing.
This is a joint volunteer postion through the First State National Historical Park and the New Castle Historical Society. Volunteers slected for this postion will be registered as both an NPS volunteer as well as a volunteer for the New Castle Historical Society.
