Fo more than thirty years, visitors have flocked to Stones River National Cemetery on selected summer and fall evenings to experience Hallowed Ground: A Lantern Tour of Stones River National Cemetery. This program gives visitors a chance to appreciate the human stories housed within the cemetery by listening to soldiers and civilians share their experiences through the letters they wrote and received during the conflict.
We need volunteers who have some dramatic flair and are willing to spend a few hours on during eight or nine Saturday evenings from May through October sharing those stories.
Volunteers will wear historic period clothing and make short presentations based on the lertters and diaries of soldiers buried in the national cemetery and their loved ones.
