The greeter is often the first personal contact a visitor has in the park.
The volunteer in this position will greet and welcome each visitor coming to Ocmulgee National Monument, begin each session of the park film; use public address system; conduct sales and stock merchandise in the Ocmulgee National Monument Association Bookstore; and assist with other light project work. Good communication skills; ability to determine visitor needs and answer questions; positive attitude; professional demeanor; knowledge of park information; reliability willingness to talk with visitors about the chosen subject; ability to encourage visitors to stewardship; flexibility for various types of weather conditions. The volunteer will possess a mature and professional demeanor while working with park visitors and staff. Be able to remain courteous and calm during possible hectic and/or emergency situations. Communicate effectively with park visitors and staff. Knowledge of the proper use of equipment is required.
Volunteers must work at least two hours a day at least once a week. We would like the Volunteer to work from 11:00 am -1:00 pm if possible.
If Volunteer is staying at our RV pad volunteers must work 32 hours per week.
Physical Requirements of Work:
Moderate physical effort is required. Some duties require sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods of time.
HOUSING & AMENITIES Type: Trailer/RV Pads Description: Park has one RV pad with water and electricity hook up. Volunteers must volunteer 32 hours a week per person to stay on the RV pad. Must provide your own RV.
