This opportunity is open to a retired couple, as it will require both persons to assisit in the care of the campground. Volunteer will serve a five days per-week schedule, must be able to serve weekends. Volunteer will serve, based on campground activity, within a 32 hours per-week.
Local recreation staff will provide full training and support in duties. Campground host perform daily responsibilities independently without direct supervision.
As a Campground Host, you will often be the first Forest representative the visiting public encounters and the first person they will contact for information regarding the area. Volunteer campground hosts are an integral part of the Forest recreation program and are critical in achieving the Forest Service mission of "caring for the land and serving the people." As such, we are seeking individuals who can represent the Cleveland National Forest in a professional and courteous manner.
Dripping Springs Campground is located on Hwy 79 south. It is 11 miles southeast of Temecula and 14 miles northwest of Warner Springs. It is approximately 1600 feet in elevation. The campground has two hiking trails that lead up to the Agua Tibia Wilderness. The campground has 33 campsites that are suitable for tents and trailers. The equestrian loop provides basic amenities so visitors can bring horses.
Amenities to be provided to the Campground Host:
RV or Trailer pad
Electrical hook-up, water hook-up, and septic hook-up with service
Campground Host duties include:
Ensure campers are registered and help vistors to find their camp site
Ensure reservation tags are posted for incoming campers with per-paid sites.
Conduct light maintenance: clean restrooms, fire rings, barbeque grills; pick-up scattered trash in camp site and along roadway; clean up camp site when campers vacate the area.
Welcome Forest visitor/campers and provide rules and regulations.
Keep track of daily log of overnight campers.
Report compliance and maintenance issues to Forest personnel.
Notify supervisor or law enforcement if any illegal activity is observed.
All maintenance repair requests must be submitted to Forest Service personnel; campground host are NOT to attempt to repair any facility issues without Forest Service authorization.
HOUSING & AMENITIES Type: Trailer/RV Pads Description: Volunteers must have their own RV or trailer, no longer than 25 - 30 feet. RV / Trailer pad site will be provided along with electricity hookup, water hookup, and septic hookup.
