Jubilee Lake is located on the Walla Walla Ranger District in the Umatilla National Forest in the northern Blue Mountains in Northeast Oregon. Jubilee Lake is the largest and most developed campground on the Umatilla National Forest. The campground offers 53 campsites, picnic areas, and a 2.8-mile accessible hiking trail around the lake. The campground offers running water, flush toilets and garbage service during the peak season. Jubilee Lake is a man-made lake at an elevation of about 4,700 feet and is approximately 92-acres in size. The lake is popular for fishing and boating, but only electric motors are allowed on the lake. The campground, located 12 miles NE of Oregon Highway 204 and Tollgate, Oregon. The campground is typically open from around July 4th through mid-October.
Campground hosts serve as the primary point of contact for the campers. Hosts visit with campers and day-use visitors, provide information about local attractions and rules and regulations, clean and maintain restrooms, restock supplies, clean up after a messy camper and carry out light maintenance tasks (see more details below). Individuals or couples can apply to be hosts. Hosts need to be friendly, flexible, and responsible. Campground hosts do not take money for campground fees or make change for campers.
Host applicants may be subject to a criminal background check.
Those who apply will need to provide their own trailer, camper, or motor home. Camp hosts will be provided a campsite near the main entryway to the campground. The host site has water and sewer hookups. There is no electrical service at the campground. Though the Host program is a volunteer program, a food reimbursement is offered, and hosts will be given a mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle use within the campground.
