Description: Firewood volunteers support operational maintenance work by processing felled trees for use by campers. Local firewood assists our environmental stewardship mission by deterring campers from bringing wood into the campgrounds that may be contaminated by disease or invasive insects.
Duties include: Prepping equipment (chainsaw and log splitter), performing minor repairs on assigned equipment and splitting and stacking wood at dispersal sites. Work will be performed at locations within the park and will occur in all types of weather.
Skills: Volunteers must be able to use common hand tools, be able to communicate with visitors and co-workers, be able to work outdoors and work with minimal supervision. Volunteers must demonstrate safe work practices and document/record volunteer hours.

HOUSING & AMENITIES Type: Trailer/RV Pads Description: Compensation: A Full Hookup campsite is offered in lieu of payment for work. The flexible work schedule is a minimum of 20 hours weekly. References and a background check are required. Position begins on May 01, 2018 through October 31, 2018, starting and ending dates flexible.
