Location Description: Page Mountain Sno Park, situated deep in the forest at an elevation of 4,800 feet, is a great place to enjoy wintertime activities such as sledding, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing. Located approximately 30 miles from Cave Junction, Oregon, it is a remote but beautiful area. The road is plowed throughout the winter, and the town of Cave Junction has basic services such as a pharmacy, post office, grocery store, and several restaurants.
Responsibilities: The host or hosts will volunteer approximately 25 hours per week, primarily over holidays and weekends. Host(s) represent the US Forest Service and are often the first contact person that visitors encounter on their vacation. As such, hosts must be neat, professional, and friendly. Host(s) will assist visitors with area orientation, inform visitors of area rules and regulations, help visitors with any problems that may arise, record visitation numbers, and perform minor maintenance to keep the warming hut, shelter, and restrooms clean and safe.
The host will be provided with a radio and trained on how to use it in the event an emergency occurs.
HOUSING & AMENITIES Type: Camp Sites Description: Hosts are provided a free campsite. Hosts must provide their own RV or travel trailer. There is no potable water, electricity, internet, cell service, or trash removal. Hosts will be reimbursed for propane.
