Supplies, tools and equipment necessary to maintain facilities

Volunteer must own a personal recreation vehicle or mobile home suitable for living in during all seasons and own a vehicle for personal transportation. Volunteer is referred to have a method for moving trash such as a pickup truck.

Physical and mental ability to do the chores required at the campground

Minimum of 90 days service at the facility and hosts may work longer by renewing volunteer agreements

The Virgin River Canyon Recreation Area is located in northwestern Arizona, along Interstate Highway 15 at Mile Post 18, next to the Cedar Pockets Interchange and Virgin River in the Virgin River Gorge. The recreation area (campground and day-use) has 115 sites. It is surrounded by two designated wilderness areas. The Virgin River has been nominated for National Wild and Scenic River status. The campground has water, electricity, and flush toilets. It is a fee area - overnight use is $8/site and day use is $2. It is about 18 miles southwest of St. George, Utah and about 18 miles northeast of Mesquite, Nevada. Both towns have shopping, restaurants, and entertainment available.
