Black Mesa Ranger District, Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, is seeking individuals and/or couples who are interested in spending all or part of the summer on the forested Mogollon Rim. Volunteers are sought to host dispersed camp areas within the Rim Lakes Recreation Area east of Payson, Arizona. Campground hosts must provide their own fully self-contained living unit (i.e. motor home, fifth wheel, or travel trailer). Hosts are provided with a free campsite, identifying sign, training materials, maps and literature for public distribution, and a volunteer uniform. Hosts are needed for dispersed campgrounds were no water or other hook-ups are available; however, potable water is delivery is a possibility on a regular basis and sewer dump stations are located nearby. Hosts are expected to set a good example by role modeling a clean and uncluttered living area and by keeping pets leashed as required by regulations.
