Creepy Critter Encounters is a Deer Flat NWR annuall Fall event. Our Visitor Center will be as full as a trick-or-treat bag with reptiles and amphibians, a storyteller, insects, and crafts. While the trail surrounding the center becomes the meet-the-refuge-creatures hike.
Volunteers will be able to choose from the following postions:
Welcome Table – Welcome visitors and provides information on the event
Activity station host – Staff a station along the spooky hike and teach kids about refuge wildlife
Photographer – Visually document all the fun!
Craft Table Attendant – Assist visitors with wildlife-related crafts
Mascot – Wear the Blue Goose costume, the symbol of the National Wildlife Refuge System
Parking Attendant/Shuttle driver – Direct traffic or shuttle visitors from parking area to event (must be over 18)
