Wish Poosh Campground sits near the southeastern shore of Cle Elum Lake in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Set near a mixed-conifer forest at an elevation of 2,300 feet and surrounded by high mountains, this campground offers large sites suitable for both tent and RV camping. Okanogan National Forest offers stunning scenic views, with high, glaciated alpine peaks, valleys of old growth forest and rugged shrub-steppe country making up the diverse landscape. Elevations range from below 1,000 feet to more than 9,000 feet.
Precipitation varies greatly throughout the area, ranging from approximately 140 inches along the Cascade Crest to only 10 inches along the eastern edge. Visitors can expect many days of warm, sunny weather in the summer, and winters with clear skies and plenty of snow.
The surrounding undeveloped wilderness, clean streams and diverse forests support an abundance of wildlife, including deer, porcupine, native fish and migratory birds.Wish Poosh Campground offers a prime location for hiking, fishing, swimming and birding in summer and early fall. Anglers will find the waters teeming with rainbow trout, cutthroat trout and kokanee salmon in the river as well as the nearby reservoir.
A campground host(s) is needed to provide maintenance and host duties at Wish Poosh Campground. Wish Poosh is a popular 34-site campground. Duties would include checking in groups and campers, cleaning fire pits, picking up trash, checking for fee compliance, cleaning and stocking vault toilet facilities (porta-potty's will likely be in use), and providing visitor information. Host(s) volunteer at least 5 hours a day and are expected to be on site (camped) 5 days/nights per week. Duration of the season is from around May 17th through mid-September. Minimum commitment of two months.
A uniform and all tools and supplies needed to perform maintenance duties will be provided.
Host must provide their own RV, trailer, or camper. Sites require self-containment. Host may be provided with solar panels. Host will be reimbursed for propane and receive $28/day.
