Park Host/Recreation Fee Collection/At Damsite Park & Northbank Park:
Carters Lake is seeking 3 sets of Volunteer Park Hosts who enjoy running parks and public interaction. Volunteers in this position must be friendly and welcoming to the public and be willing to work in a gatehouse or day use park or collect honor vaults. These positions require that volunteers have a partner or spouse, as they require two persons. The host positions will work at Damsite Park, Northbank Park and collecting honor vaults at several locations on a rotational basis.
Each week volunteer teams will rotate through each position and will have at least one weekend off per month. Damsite and Northbank will require 20 hours per team and the schedule may vary throughout the season, but will typically include at least 9 hours per day in the gatehouse on both Saturday and Sunday with 1 hour spent opening and closing the parks. Vaults will require pick-up and counting twice per week. Additional hours will be made up as necessary with additional tasks, but will be off on the weekend.
Duties in the parks will include running a cash register in the gatehouse, directing persons towards the electronic fee machine, and driving through the park for general safety observations. Since these positions require handling money, all persons will be required to complete a federal background investigation. Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator, Park Ranger George I. McBroom at (706) 334-2040 or George.firstname.lastname@example.org. (Updated 04/30/2019)
