Help us tell the story of a founding family! William Floyd, Signer of the Declaration of Independence and the first U.S. Congressman from New York’s 1st District was born and raised in the Old Mastic House and his family maintained an association with the Estate for eight generations!
Trained in this rich history by NPS Rangers, Docents give house tours to members of the public and school and other visiting groups. Other volunteer activities may include attending off-site fairs to represent the Estate and Fire Island National Seashore. This site is open Friday through Sunday; Memorial Day weekend to Veteran’s Day and is accessible by car.
