Kings Mountain National Miliary Park is 4,000 acres and the maintenance staff is extremely small. In order to maintain the park properly, there is a heavy dependence upon enthusiastic volunteers in the Division of Maintenance. Duties of this position include:
Trash pick- up
Maintain cleanliness and safety of park grounds and facilities
Daily cleaning of facilities
Trail maintenance/ clearing
Use of some hand tools required
Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required
Volunteers may be required to operate park vehicles
Volunteers are required to dress in proper attire/ uniform pieces
Volunteers will be issued volunteer shirt(s) and hat
Volunteers will operate under a Voluntary Services Agreement
Valid driver’s license is required
Volunteers must have ability to pass a federal background check

HOUSING & AMENITIES Type: Trailer/RV Pads Description: RV pad is based on availability and requires a minimum time commitment of 32 hours/week for three months. The park has 1 RV pad with water, sewer, and electrical hookups. RV volunteers are given access to a washer and dryer. PLEASE check on your cell phone service in this area. Reception within the park can be erratic at times, the extent depending on service provider.
