Volunteer will assist maintenance staff with painting interior and exterior of historic structures on the island. Must be an experienced painter and able to work independently and neatly while painting walls and ceilings.
Minimum of 40 hours per week (usually work four 10 hour days with 3 days off). Prefer 2 month commitment.
Cumberland Island is located in southeast Georgia. Summers can be hot and humid with many insects. Access to the island is limited by daily ferry service. Work will include standing and hiking on uneven surfaces, using ladders and scaffolding while working in variable weather conditions.
Candidates should enjoy solitude and independent living. Volunteer will live in onsite with limited access off island.
