Walnut Canyon National Monument is looking for friendly, motivated and team oriented volunteers to assist our visitor services program.
The volunteer position(s) are available year-round. This position focuses on visitor services, with primary duties including staffing the visitor center front desk, roving park trails, swearing in Junior Rangers, staffing the Junior Ranger station, and providing formal and informal interpretive programs.
SKILLS: Customer service experience and the ability to hike park trails at 6,700 feet.
ORIENTATION: Volunteers new to the area will receive training on visitor center operations and preparing and presenting interpretive programs.
COMMITMENT: A three month minimum commitment is required.

HOUSING & AMENITIES Type: Bunk House Description: Park housing and RV pads are available.
Park housing is in a shared housing unit. Individuals have their own private bedroom, and share common living space, bathrooms, kitchen and laundry room.
There are two RV pads. One is a large paved site, and the other is a smaller dirt site. Both have full hookups.
Volunteers housing expenses will be fully covered with at 32 hour per week commitment.
