Centennial Visitor Center (8500 feet located 26 miles west of Laramie, WY and 2 miles west of Centennial, WY on State Highway 130), is at the eastern entrance to the Snowy Range Scenic By-Way in the Medicine Bow-Rout National Forest.
Center staff and volunteers provide information and handouts on trails and hikes, fishing, ORV’s, camping and related forest user activities and services. Duties also include selling publications and merchandise as well as stocking and inventorying products, sweeping main area and picnic areas
Work involves extensive contact with the public Volunteers will develop the ability to explain Forest Service uses, fees, rules and regulations cheerfully and with tact. Interest in local history, recreation and forest activities is helpful.
Visitor Center work week is Thursday through Monday and includes holidays. Flexible volunteer schedules are available, with prior approval. Local applicants are welcome. Schedules are agreed to prior to start and may involve one or more shifts weekly. There are limited opportunities for developed camp sites, including RV hook-ups, for volunteers willing to work 3 to 4 days per week. Please inquire as to site availability.
