Greet and provide assistance to visitors from all around the world at Glen Canyon NRA's visitor center: Carl Hayden Visitor Center in Page, Arizona. Volunteers are typically stationed at the Visitor Center answering walk-in and telephone inquiries from the general public and distributing Junior Ranger booklets to age-appropriate visitors, checking completed booklets, and awarding badges. Volunteer can also assist in trip planning to park and local areas, aid park staff with special events in the visitor center, lead an established interpretive program with experience, help maintain the stock of maps and brochures at the visitor desk, and staff information tables at special events and rove trails, campground, marinas, and visitor center for informal interpretation.
The visitor center is open year-round, so volunteers are welcomed at anytime. There is more need during Spring Break and summer months. Minimum commitment would be 4 weeks, but could also be continuous. Would prefer if they could work at least 4 hours a day, but can work up to 9-10 hours a day in the summer months. If housing is required, would need to be 32 hours a week.
HOUSING & AMENITIES Type: Bunk House Description: Housing and/or RV spaces may be available depending on time of year. Each are on a first come first serve basis.
