Eagle Creek recreation area is the first developed recreation area in the Forest Service system. The day use area is an extremely busy site, especially on weekends and holidays. The host must be able to interact in a friendly manner with dozens of visitors daily. The site has a historic flush restroom facility on site and is located among tall Douglas-fir and maple trees. Salmon viewing is popular in the fall.
In 2017, the Eagle Creek Fire started in not far from the trailhead. The fire spread to roughly 48,000 acres in size and resulted in the closing of the Eagle Creek trail. We are looking to fill a hosting posing at the day use area/trailhead in anticipation of a possible reopening of the Eagle Cr. Trail. This is an extremely busy location that will require a large amount of visitor caontacts.
