Duties: Volunteers provide essential services to park visitors on a daily basis. Primary duties include greeting and orienting visitors in the Visitor Center, answering questions about the park, recording statistical data, making sales, professionally answering phone calls, and other office functions. Park volunteers may also assist rangers in interpretive and educational programs and developing exhibits or bulletin boards.
Skills: Good oral communication skills and an interest in natural and cultural history. Volunteers should be flexible, people-oriented, and have the ability to interact with visitors of varying age groups and cultures.
HOUSING & AMENITIES Type: Bunk House Description: Free housing in riverfront lodge in exchange for 32 hours per week. All rooms are air conditioned. Volunteers receive their own bedroom with private bath; rooms for couples and singles are available. Communal area includes TV, DVD, stereo, WiFi and fully-stocked kitchen. Laundry facilities are available on-site. There are opportunities for kayaking, hiking, biking, and fishing on the island. Minutes from the beach.
