Volunteers are needed to help in the operation of the refuges 2 visitor centers. With nearly 70,000 annual visitors, volunteers get to interact with a variety of people, including those that have come for the spectacular wildlife watching opportunities, as well as the fishing and hunting.
The Visitor centers are open seven days a week during the spring but days of operation vary during the winter and summer seasons. Operating hours are 9am-4pm.
Anahuac NWR provides full hook ups along with a new community building housing laundry facilities, kitchen, restroom with shower, and living/community area. We also provide propane and a warm and friendly "Thank You!"
