This is a full-time volunteer opportunity for Summer 2019. Housing is included. Apply through the website of the Geologic Society of America at http://www.geosociety.org.
Positions are advertised in December and January and filled in March or April. The application period for 2019 will be open starting approximately December 1, 2018 and will close approximately February 1, 2019. Consider spending your summer applying your geological training in one of the most beautiful national parks in the country!
Every year, Mount Rainier National Park works with the Geologic Society of America to hire several student interns, enrolled in college geology programs, through the Geoscientists-in-Parks program. Some interns work with our interpretation program, developing and presenting guided walks and illustrated talks to educate visitors about Mount Rainier's geologic resources. Other interns help with the park's geomorphology research program. All positions last 12 weeks, come with housing and a small living allowance, and, on successful completion, qualify the interns for educational grants.
HOUSING & AMENITIES Type: Cabins Description: Housing varies by location, and may include apartments at Park Headquarters, cabins at Longmire, or rooms in the Sunrise bunkhouse.
