EXCITING VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY! Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery is looking for volunteers to assist with the hatchery’s fish production program! Duties are mostly outdoor in nature, our crew is highly motivated, and the work is extremely rewarding! Tasks include the following: feeding fry and fish; cleaning raceways; loading fish onto trucks and transporting; conducting sample counts; assisting in the operation of the Threatened & Endangered species lab; mowing and maintenance; etc.
For those who are Workampers - In exchange for service, volunteers receive a campsite with water, electric, sewer hookup, WiFi connection, propane and laundry facilities. Hours are 20-24 hours per week, per person, and our location (Jamestown, KY/Lake Cumberland) is central for seeing the region! For those residing in the local area, any and all donated time is appreciated, and all volunteers receive training and uniforms.
This opportunity is suited for individuals or couples who can provide their own lodging - local or on site in our RV/campsites. Housing is not available on site.
HOUSING & AMENITIES Type: Trailer/RV Pads Description: Housing is provided via a campsite with full hookup. Volunteer must provide their own camping unit. No showerhouse or restroom facility is available, only a campsite with electric, water and sewer hookup. Laundry facilities are also provided.
